My Take On Golf

     Golf and Bodybuilding.  Two things that my grandfather taught me when I was 12 years old.  It’s funny because I got into these two sports at the same time growing up.  There’s something to be said about being able to play a sport until you’re 90 years old.  The last round of golf that I played with my grandfather was when he was 87 years old, and he still was making some Par putts.  Now, he was a little shaky, but he was still able to get out and hit the ball.

     Think about a sport that you can start when you are 12, and say conservatively that you can play till you are 80 years old.  That’s 68 years of golf… that’s a LONG TIME.  Let’s say you are reading this article and you don’t golf, or you’ve watched it on TV and think it’s boring.  I get it.  Extreme Powerlifting (suit, wraps, etc.) and Golf probably never be in the same sentence ha, but I love to put myself in new categories.

 

     The amount of time you get to spend with family, getting together with siblings and kids, and using golf for business makes it worthwhile to look into.  Take Sunday for example… I went to Westside Barbell and benched 470 lbs, and then five hours later I’m golfing with my son.  Basically going from one extreme to the other.  Straight Power, then over to a game of pure finesse.

     Golf is a sport that you can play most of your life, adds to your family time, helps in business, and even is a source of meditation.  There’s something about going out by myself on the course early in the morning with the sun shining and birds chirping that gets me focused.  Give golf a try and see what it does for you.
