TD - 2 Lunge Variations
Welcome back to another episode of Technique Daily with today's host, Cory Gregory! Cory is going to show you 2 Lunge Variations that you can throw into your lunge routine. Cory really likes to do walking lunges and has seen the benefits of doing them regularly but there are a couple other ones that you should consider especially during your warm-up. The first variations is a front foot elevated lunge where you are stepping forward onto something where in this case Cory is using a 45lb bumper plate to step onto. This is going to help you dig into your glutes a little more and then you will press back to the top. The second variation is rear foot elevated split squat or Bulgarian Split Squat. This going to allow you to sit back targeting the glute in another direction. Don't get so concerned about doing one style of lunges. Add these variations in to keep things interesting as well as allow you to target muscles in at a different angle. You can add weight with these a well and play with the rep scheme to fit them into your programming. Give these 2 Lunge Variations a try and let us know what you think!
