Coach Dustin Myers is coming to you live from THE Old School Gym to show you a great iso pulldown variation that is going to work your grip specifically for combat athletes that compete in either judo or jiu jitsu where you wear a gi and have to hold on to that gi. This is going to simulate kind of like squeezing the gi as well as pulling at the same time. What you are going to do is set up a single arm pulldown, take a towel or a sweatshirt and wrap it around the handle, then hook a band up to the top of the pulldown machine. Grab the towel in one hand and the band in the other with a good arch in the back, pull the band down and squeeze while you pull and twist on the other side. Do 6-8 reps on that side then immediately switch sides and perform 6-8 reps on the other side. This is going to get that grip nice and strong so you can hold on to that gi. give these Judo Pulldowns a try and let us know what you think!
