The Competition Curl
Below is a breakdown on how to execute this. Beneath that is a throwback video of me competing in a curl competition, which I am thinking about doing again soon.
Your arms have to be locked out. I actually hunch forward with the traps in the stretch position, so once the weight is transferred, it helps create some momentum.
As you flex your forearms to get the bar moving, you also are setting your shoulders and traps simultaneously.
From here, you can have an arch in your back, but you can’t swing. Force your elbows through.
Lastly, get the bar all the way up to your chin to lock it out.
