What Exactly Are BCAAs?

Max Effort Muscle

Branch Chain Amino Acids, or BCAA’s, are the building blocks of proteins and one of the most important supplements in any fitness nutrition program. They make up about 35% of your muscle mass and are essential for growth and development. The 3 Branch Chain Amino Acids are Leucine, Isoleucine, and Valine. These are also apart of the 9 essential amino acids that our bodies need on a daily basis.  Meeting these daily needs can be accomplished through proper nutrition and supplementation.

In order to reach our full maximum potential, our body needs more than 20 different types of amino acids.  The body can produce all but 8-10 of these acids and that is why diet and supplementation is so important. Here at Max Effort Muscle we are all about getting your body to the best level physically possible. Because of this, we have BCAA’s in not only our Post Workout and naturally occurring our Protein but also, we’ve added them into our Pre Workout.

Since our bodies are normally in a highly catabolic condition during times of intense weight training or cardio, our body becomes depleted and looks to other sources for energy. In these times of stress, BCAA’s will progress protein synthesis, enhancing muscle growth.

On top of aiding in the growth of lean muscle, the BCAA’s that we use specifically aid in helping them recover as well. Whether you take these, before, during or after your workout they are working overtime to ensure that your muscles get the type of rest and recovery that they need.
